Lauren & Ian | Brisbane Wedding Photography
After many years and a beautiful daughter together, Lauren and Ian made it official on Friday 16th June 2017. And what an amazing day it was!
I first had the pleasure of meeting Lauren and Ian at their daughter Ruby’s newborn session 2 years ago. It’s always so wonderful seeing my clients again and although I don’t tend to photograph many weddings, when Lauren asked me to be the one to capture the next most important event in her life, how could I say anything other than yes!
While Ian and his brother relaxed at the Stamford Plaza enjoying the Brisbane River views, Lauren’s day began at the Eastwood Apartments in Woolloongabba with her parents, sister and sweet little Ruby. The wine started to flow and strawberries were consumed while the pampering commenced and the hair and makeup girls worked their magic on all the ladies. Ruby was never far away from all the action, admiring her mummy’s princess dress and gearing up for her big role as the world’s most adorable little flower girl.
The wedding ceremony took place along the banks of the Brisbane River at the base of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. It was a beautiful location and we certainly didn’t have far to go to find some great spots for the all important bridal portraits. We were literally spoilt for choice! Being a winter wedding it didn’t take long for the sun to go down but when that means the pretty city lights of Brisbane become your backdrop? Absolutely no complaints 🙂
Then it was off to Riverlife for the reception and more of those city night light views. The bride and groom cut the cake and then they danced to Rest of My Life by Unwritten Law. From that point on I can confidently say that the dance floor was never empty again. I had always suspected that Lauren and Ian’s wedding reception would be a fun one I was definitely right about that. These two know how to throw a party and there were more than a few dance floor warriers in their midst 😉
Weddings really are one of the most special and significant events in a person’s lifetime. Not just for the bride and groom but for their family, friends, nearest and dearest. It’s a true privilege to be part of that day from start to finish and capture all the love, emotion and funny moments along the way. Thank you for asking me to be that person for you Lauren and Ian. It really was a beautiful day and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together xo
